What you need to know

Child Trust Funds were set up by the government as a way of encouraging parents to save for their child’s future. RBS were one of the first providers to launch a Child Trust Fund and recognise this as a key part of financial planning for your children’s future. Our Child Trust Fund was developed to provide the opportunity for higher growth than that of a traditional savings account but also taking into account the need to balance any risk to your child’s funds.

The RBS Child Trust Fund Stakeholder Account

We've teamed up with Morley Fund Management, one of the UK's largest Fund Managers, to provide The RBS Child Trust Fund Stakeholder account. Please note: Morley Funds are equity-based and values may fall as well as rise.

  • Top up for big benefits - invest an extra £10 (or more) every month, and you could make a big difference to the fund's value
  • Access - your child can only access the money when they turn 18. Once money is paid in, it can't be withdrawn until that time.
  • Act fast - if you don't invest your voucher, it will expire and the government will invest the money on your behalf with a provider of their choice.
  • Potential for growth - the Royal Bank of Scotland Child Trust Fund offers a balanced investment in stocks and shares. It's a stakeholder fund designed for long-term gains. Values may fall as well as rise and returns are therefore not guaranteed
  • Investment expertise - the fund is managed by Morley Fund Management, one of the UK's leading fund managers
